The idea of organizing MEU in Granada was a volcanic one: literally. In fact, if we are here now, we (also) have to thank the Eyjafjöll explosion in 2010.
It was because of the deseases and the delays it created on transport in Europe that Natalia Neira (former president of BETA España), Carla Flores (general director) and Daniel Carrera (secretary), on their way home from MEU Strasbourg, had the time to think about introducing in their home country the exciting experience that had just concluded.
So, actually, this is how it all began -in an explosive way- and how we have now arrived at the third MEU edition in Granada with 49 participants coming from 18 different countries debating on cross-border healthcare and the external relations of the European Union.
The majority of the participants are Law students, many others study International Relations; among them, sone would like to become lawyers, some others aim to a diplomatic career rather than a politicine.
Anyway, all the participants do have one thing in common: they are all here to try to approach and to understand how does the politic at the "super level" work in Europe and how it affects our daily life, confident on the fact that "cooperation is better than fragmentation" ( quoting from Sr. don George Julian Bourne's speech).
