Nowadays, politics is seen as something 'technical',as a specific profession,as a 'super-level' and, somehow,as something not concerning with our daily 'normal' lives, as a world of privileges far away from our.
Nothing could be more wrong than this!
The word 'politics' has its roots in the ancient Greek adjective πολιτικός [politikós], that means 'related to city and citizens' , whereas πόλις [pólis] was the noun that we translate with 'city' (although it is a little bit reductive and misleading too).
In fact, while we now generally conceive a city as a place and as an ensemble of buildings and infrastructures, Ancient Greeks strongly believed that a city was its citizens ad the relationships among them: you had no city without citizens, no Athens without Athenians, no Sparta without Spartans.
So,as long as this is concerned, we have to conclude that each one of us is a politician in every moment of our daily routine, and that even the most silly and little act (such as trowing the waste by the street instead of putting it in the garbage or crossing with the red instead of waiting the green light) is charged with great responsibilities and can affect the whole community's life -in a good or in a bad way.
So,politicians, act responsibly!!
